We are a great pleasure to write and publish a textbook entitled “A Textbook of Pharmacoepidemiology and Environmental Health” for health science students. The primary concern of the epidemiologist is to study disease occurrence in people, who during their lives are exposed to numerous factors and circumstances, some of which may have a role in disease aetiology. The clinician or the laboratory investigator, who are can study disease conditions more precisely. Pharmacoepidemiology is the study of the utilization and effects of drugs in large numbers of people; it provides an estimate of the probability of beneficial effects of a drug in a population and the probability of adverse effects. Environmental health addresses all the physical, chemical, and biological factors external to a person, and all the related factors impacting behaviors.

This textbook is students and teachers-friendly, such as it is written understandably with probable questions and covers the current syllabus including recent updates. Especially this book is written to meet the need of students of Diploma in Pharmacy Third Year (D.
